Ufficialmente già ultimato, Final Fantasy XIII rappresenta un po’ una rivoluzione per la popolare serie di RPG targati Square-Enix. Sarà infatti il primo episodio a vantare un proprio “universo” all’interno del quale verranno ambientati anche altri giochi, uno dei quali realizzato in contemporanea (Final Fantasy Versus XIII). Nonostante gli sviluppatori diano il gioco come ultimato, sono davvero pochi i dettagli svelati a parte qualche trailer che mostra la solita cura maniacale per i dettagli e un sistema di combattimento in tempo reale che sfrutta la concatenazione delle combo per dare vita ad attacchi spettacolari e potentissimi. Quello che si vede bene è la protagonista del gioco, una guerriera dotata di una spada-pistola che le consente una serie di manovre offensive davvero belle a vedersi.
